What’s New

Dear Members of the Georgia Chapter of the ACC,

I am reaching out to you to request your attendance at the ACC Legislative Conference in Washington, DC on November 3-5. Not only is the conference packed with a wealth of information on healthcare advocacy topics that directly impact our patients and practices, the opportunity to visit the halls of Congress and raise our voices as cardiovascular professionals to support the care of our patients is a truly meaningful experience.

We have had tremendous impact with our advocacy efforts at the national level, and it is no surprise the ACC Legislative Conference has grown every year. Past successes include increased funding for cardiovascular research, legislation to support APP supervision of cardiac rehab, and just in the past week the drafting of a bipartisan letter opposing the potential ~80% cuts in myocardial PET in the physician office setting which were included in the proposed 2020 Medicare Physician Fee Schedule (go to https://www.acc.org/tools-and-practice-support/advocacy-at-the-acc/advocacy-action?vvsrc=%2fcampaigns%2f68556%2frespond to request your member of Congress to sign on).

As a reminder, the Georgia Chapter will reimburse up to $1000 in travel expenses for attendees. Please register today at https://www.cvent.com/events/2019-american-college-of-cardiology-legislative-conference/registration-f2209856104044659f9cb053873c4b89.aspx?fqp=true.

I look forward to seeing you in DC on November 3!
